Welcome to the GoldEducator.com™ Portal!

ATTENTION NEWBEE GOLD HUNTERS:
Start with the Beginner's Guide

On this site you will find a constantly evolving source of information about hunting for gold on eBay, at Flea Markets (indoor vs outdoor), hosting Gold Parties, searching Estate Sales, and even farming friends, relatives, and co-workers. This site attempts to fill the void on the web of centralized, easily available, and FREE content that relates to finding scrap Gold (& Silver). Why should you have to pay for the knowledge like the static, non interactive ebooks and phamplets you can buy on eBay?

Perhaps even more importantly than free knowledge, this site talks about the entire process from Financing (or finding free cash to work with), searching for the shiny stuff, and finally converting the metal into cash at low cost. This is all stuff that other Gold Hunters don't want you to know, so why am I telling you? For the same reason that someone made the TV Series, "Breaking the Magician's Code: Magic's Biggest Secrets Finally Revealed"... someone has to do it!

If you are not a gold hunter - but just want to know what your gold is worth so you can sell it at a fair price, then just "Cut to the Chase".

This site will grow as time and resources allow. Initially the content build out will start with a focus on eBay methods and then move to farming Flea Markets, then Gold Parties, and finally Estate Sales and others. If you are looking for something that hasn't been written about, send an email to the Teacher@GoldEducator.com and I'll be sure to add the content (or just help you with your question). Or better yet, you can contribute articles as well! Just register first. Why become a member?

Always be on the look out. Always be aware. Always be ready to pounce!

Quick and dirty listing of areas either added or enhanced:

  • 6/23/10: Added a Mentor Corner for Questions & Answers from readers

  • 6/13/10: Started 2 new areas by request of Bradyoyo who asked for material on Garage/Rummage/Yard Sales and I've started a supplemental area that will show pictures of where to look for Karat Marks on gold.
  • 6/10/10: Significantly added to the video playlists based on existing You Tube content in 9 different categories.
  • 6/7/10: Added a video section to the site: http://goldeducator.com/index.php/videos
  • 5/26/10: Added 2 additional analysis to the Cash PayOut Analysis file that I first posted on 5/21/10.
  • 5/24/10: Added details around the different types of Gold from Plate, the Filled to Solid. Also added a visual to show why some types of filled gold are better than others, see the Bubble Chart.
  • 5/23/10: Uploaded additional updates/edits to the Excel Calculator for buying Gold and Scrap.
  • 5/21/10: Uploaded the 16 page presentation to http://goldeducator.com/index.php/newsanalysis/cashforgoldanalysis it has 3 completed analysis and some support documentation. As time allows I will complete the research, likely over the next week or two.
  • 5/20/10: I have begun a 16 page presentation .ppt file that performs similar analysis and overall summary for 10+ different online Cash for Gold companies similar to the Sears analysis. I have about another 5-10 hours of work to complete the file and then I will post it for Members to access (membership is free)
  • 5/18/10: Created a News & Analysis area and published my first analysis of the the payout rates a consumer can expect if they sell to Sears / Kmart & the ProGold Network. Analysis found here.
  • 5/17/10: Added a break even analysis to the eBay Hunting area - getting started. Analysis shows when to use Mr. Rebates rather than Big Crumbs to get the best rebate.
  • 5/16/10: Added a Gold Gram Grid and Silver Gram Grid for quick reference of the value of a gram of precious metal for the person on the go at a pawn shop or an estate sale or flea market.
  • 5/16/10: Updated the excel calculator file to be a single file, multiple worksheets, and removed a few bugs. http://goldeducator.com/index.php/calculations
  • 5/13/10: FACEBOOK PAGE http://www.facebook.com/pages/GoldEducatorcomTM-Free-Gold-Scrap-Resource/107625182614913?v=wall I created a facebook page to go with this site. While this site is primarily one way communication, my hope is that facebook gives a more interactive 2 way discussion forum.
  • 5/9/10: http://goldeducator.com/index.php/site-articles turned on an alternate view to search for information on the site by being able to see listings of the articles and the user can navigate on their own.
  • 5/9/10: http://goldeducator.com/index.php/fleamarket turned on the Flea Market hunting section, but it's pretty barren at the moment.
  • 5/9/10: http://goldeducator.com/index.php/beginnerguide created new section for Beginner's - links out to content on the site, but in a way that a new person needs to know about.
  • 5/8/10: http://goldeducator.com/index.php/home/cutchase created a new section for people who are not gold hunters - they just want to sell their gold and be done with it. Call it - path of least resistance.
  • 5/8/10: http://goldeducator.com/index.php/financing added a section about using Home Equity Lines of Credit and beefed up other areas of the Finance section
  • 5/8/10: http://goldeducator.com/index.php/ebay/ebaybidding added cross links to other areas of the site as well as enhancements to existing content.
  • 5/8/10: http://goldeducator.com/index.php/ebay/categories added 50% more commentary
